1. What FloridaContractorCheck.com Is (and Isn't)

FloridaContractorCheck.com is an informational service that aggregates publicly available contractor license data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). We make that data searchable and easier to understand for homeowners and businesses.

We also operate a lead generation and matchmaking platform — connecting people who need contractor services with licensed professionals in their area.

We are NOT:

• A contractor, contractor agency, or referral service
• An agent or representative of any contractor listed on the Platform
• An endorser, recommender, or guarantor of any contractor's work, qualifications, or character
• A party to any agreement between a homeowner and a contractor

Listing a contractor on our Platform — whether in free or premium/featured placement — does not constitute our endorsement of that contractor.

2. License Data — Accuracy & Limitations

All license data displayed on FloridaContractorCheck.com is sourced from the Florida DBPR's publicly available records. While we strive to keep data current, we cannot guarantee that the information reflects real-time license status, disciplinary actions, or changes.

Always verify a contractor's license status directly at myfloridalicense.com before hiring anyone for work on your property.

We are not responsible for errors, omissions, outdated records, or any harm resulting from reliance on data displayed on this Platform.

3. Lead Generation & Quote Requests

When you submit a quote request or project inquiry through the Platform, you are requesting to be connected with contractors in your area. By submitting a request, you understand and agree to the following:

• Your contact information and project details may be shared with one or more contractors operating in your area and trade category.
• Submitting a quote request does not guarantee that any contractor will respond, contact you, or provide a quote.
• We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, accuracy, or outcome of any contractor's response or subsequent work.
• You consent to being contacted by contractors via phone, text, or email regarding your project.

4. Featured & Premium Placements — Paid Advertising

Some contractors appear in "Featured," "Premium," or "Sponsored" positions on the Platform. These placements are paid advertising — contractors pay for enhanced visibility.

Premium or featured placement is not an editorial endorsement and does not reflect our assessment of quality, reliability, or customer satisfaction. All contractors — featured or not — should be independently verified before hiring.

5. Contractor Premium Subscriptions

Contractors may purchase premium subscriptions to access enhanced features, featured placement, and lead notifications. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Subscriptions are auto-renewing on a monthly or annual basis as selected at purchase.
• You may cancel anytime through your account dashboard or by emailing info@floridacontractorcheck.com.
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months or unused portions of a subscription.
• We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable notice to subscribers.

6. Reviews & User-Generated Content

The Platform may allow users to submit reviews, ratings, and other content about contractors ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you represent that it reflects your honest, firsthand experience and does not contain false statements, spam, or content that violates applicable law.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of User Content submitted by third parties. FloridaContractorCheck.com acts as an interactive computer service provider and, as such, is not the publisher or speaker of third-party User Content. We assert all applicable protections under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230).

We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to review, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion, at any time, for any reason or no reason, without notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data in bulk without our written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's functionality or security
• Impersonate any person, contractor, or entity
• Post or transmit any content that is defamatory, harassing, or unlawful
• Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable federal, state, or local law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user or contractor who violates these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including logos, design, text, software, and compilation of DBPR data — is owned by or licensed to FloridaContractorCheck.com. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent. License data sourced from DBPR is public record; our presentation, selection, and organization of that data is our intellectual property.

9. No Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF DATA.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the reliability, accuracy, or completeness of any contractor information displayed.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FLORIDACONTRACTORCHECK.COM AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:

• Your use of or inability to use the Platform
• Reliance on data, information, or content displayed on the Platform
• Any contractor you contact, hire, or engage through the Platform
• Work performed (or not performed) by any contractor
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FloridaContractorCheck.com and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any User Content you submit; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
