FloridaContractorCheck.com ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights as a user. This policy applies to all visitors, homeowners, and contractors who use our Platform.
The short version: We collect information to help connect homeowners with contractors. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Period.

- Project details: description of work needed, property type, budget range, timeline
- Account information: email and password for contractor accounts
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers

Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our Platform, we may automatically collect:
- IP address and general location (city/region)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, search queries made, and time spent on the Platform
- Referring URLs and click paths
Contractor License Data
Contractor license information displayed on the Platform is sourced from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) public records. This data is publicly available and is not considered private personal information under most applicable laws.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Connect homeowners with licensed contractors based on location, trade, and project needs
- Deliver quote requests and project leads to relevant contractors
- Create and manage contractor accounts and subscriptions
- Process payments for premium subscriptions via Stripe
- Send transactional emails (quote confirmations, account updates, subscription receipts)
- Improve the Platform's search, matching, and user experience
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns via analytics tools
- Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces significant legal effects without human oversight.
3. How We Share Your Information
With Contractors (Lead Sharing)
When you submit a quote request, we share your contact information and project details with one or more contractors who match your location and trade needs. By submitting a request, you consent to this sharing. You understand that you may be contacted by multiple contractors.
With Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Platform:
- Stripe — payment processing for contractor subscriptions
- Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
- Vercel — website hosting and deployment
- Google Analytics — usage analytics (if enabled)
These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable law.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
Business Transfers
If FloridaContractorCheck.com is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may be part of that transaction. We'll notify you via email or prominent notice on the Platform if such a change occurs.
Mobile Information
No mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent records will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to deliver SMS messages you have specifically requested (such as lead notifications) and to operate the related opt-in, opt-out, and support features. We may share mobile information with our SMS service provider (Twilio) strictly to deliver those messages, and Twilio is contractually bound to use it only for that purpose.
We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties — ever.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Session cookies: Keep you logged in during your visit
- Preference cookies: Remember your settings and preferences
- Analytics cookies: Understand how visitors use the Platform (via Google Analytics and/or Vercel Analytics)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. SMS and Mobile Communications
What We Collect
When you opt in to receive SMS messages from us, we collect:
- The mobile phone number you provide
- The date and time of your opt-in
- The IP address from which you opted in
- The specific consent disclosure text you saw at the time of opt-in
- The form or page where you opted in
When you send or receive SMS messages through our Platform, we collect metadata including timestamps, message length, delivery status, and (for inbound replies) the body of the message for keyword processing (STOP, HELP, START, YES, NO, etc.).
How We Use Mobile Information
We use mobile information solely to:
- Send SMS messages you have specifically opted in to receive (such as contractor lead notifications)
- Process opt-in, opt-out, and support keyword replies
- Maintain a record of consent for legal and compliance purposes
- Deliver service-related messages such as payment confirmations after you claim a lead
Communication Routing
Communications between contractors and homeowners on FloridaContractorCheck.com may be routed through platform-managed phone numbers. When this routing is used, we collect metadata about the communication, including timestamps, call duration, connection status, and message length. We do not record voice calls. SMS message content is not retained beyond what is required for delivery and inbound keyword processing.
This metadata is used to measure response time, resolve disputes, and calculate service quality metrics for contractors on the Platform.
Message Frequency and Costs
If you opt in to SMS messages, message frequency varies based on activity in your service area. There is no charge from us to receive messages. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying with any of the following keywords to any message we send:
STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT
You will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out, after which you will not receive further SMS messages from us. Opt-outs are honored permanently unless you affirmatively re-opt-in by replying START / UNSTOP or by submitting a new opt-in form on the Platform.
How to Get Help
Reply HELP or INFO to any of our SMS messages, or email info@floridacontractorcheck.com.
Sharing of Mobile Information
As stated in Section 3, mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent records are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share mobile information only with Twilio (our SMS service provider) for the purpose of delivering messages you have requested.

- Payment records:Retained as required by law and Stripe's data policies (typically 7 years for tax and accounting purposes).
